Pink Jacket 005 Pink Jacket 007 Pink Jacket 008

Poppy’s jacket from last week managed to get finished just in time for the cooler weather. If there is a job for jacket maker I would happily work for free, they are easily my favourite thing. This week’s wip is Caleb’s jacket who started asking for his as soon as he saw Poppy’s. I decided to add lining to the hood for a nicer finish and left off the original pockets. The toggles and wooden buttons were from the stash as was the white ric rac loops. The heart details are wool flannel appliquéd on. When she wore it to playgroup no-one thought that I had made it – is that a compliment? Total cost – approx. $16

Zip on over for more creative goodness at Kirsty’s

Thanks so much for last weeks help with the buttons and don’t forget the giveaway.

Great jacket. She looks really cute in her pink coat. How cold does it get in the winter where you are? (Sorry, I'm a bit topographically challenged ;-))

Yes, total compliment! You don't want clothes that look handmade in a bad way! :) You have done such a fabulous job of this! Can't wait to see Calebs. Let me know when you are taking orders!

Now I know what everyone is RAVING about! And yep, that was definitively a compliment from the other Mums. Soak it up lady, soak it up.

What a gorgeous, warm pink coat! And it looks really great, not home mad-ish at all. And that is meant in a completely complimentary way. Great to see something made out of the jap mag (obviously they must have good picture instructions!)

You did good Cindy! The "is that a compliment?" question is a good one. Do we want our stuff to look homemade or not? Do we want it to stand out? Yes and no? Depends who's asking? Depends who's wearing?

Good luck in the hunt for the 'jacket maker' job...!!
