Eye Spy ... My Work in Progress

My work in progress is still in it's early infancy stage, I haven't even cut it out, but it is the biggest single project that I have on the horizon. It is Glen's birthday at the end of May so I really want to make him a super cosy jacket for winter now he is catching the early train for work. I am a little nervous, I am not use to so many pieces and sooo much fabric but I am sure I will be fine once I start.
Thanks to Michelle for this weeks theme I really love to see what everyone has cooking. Remember Mr Linky at the bottom, if anyone is having trouble putting in their address let me know. I am hoping the fabulous Jhoanna at One Red Robin will be able to help us out next week. am always amazed at her amazing sewing and great finds (she has a great eye for some beautiful dolls) and she is also super sweet.

I also wanted to say thank-you to all the fantastic comments that I have been receiving lately. I always so excited to get your feedback and support. Can talk now, must go - sewing, sewing, sewing - like a machine.

Good luck on the Winter Coat - looks like child's play! ha ha. Can't wait to see the finished result, it will be so worth it.

Ooh, a coat!! I have plans to make one for myself for our winter....it is nerve-wracking to contemplate! good luck!

btw, thanks for the Mr Linky thing, it was so nice last week to just come back after a day and go right to everyone who'd played along!

that is a big project but after seeing what you did with poppy's jacket I am sure it will look gorgeous.

I really want to make myself a coat for winter but I am so nervous I don't even know what fabric to buy.

I can't wait to see the finished coat - what a lovely gift to make. Burda patterns are pretty friendly, even when there are a gazillion pieces. What kind of fabric are you going to use? And is there any truth to the rumour that the pockets will be embellished with robots/cars/trains??! (My WIP was also a birthday present jacket, but for my mum. Must be the season!)

Super project! Hope we get to see bits in progress along the way.

Looks like a lovely pattern, I'm always daunted by adult winter coats....more because if you make a mistake it could cost a fortune! Can't wait to see it all sewn up.

I'm with everyone else about Mr Linky. How did we ever manage before?!
After seeing some of your other sewn creations, I am sure that this coat is going to be fabulous! :)

I'm sure your coat will be awesome. Can't wait to see it. Clothes of man-size proportions are a little overwhelming for me at this stage of my sewing career, but I'd love to try one some day.

The planets didn't quite align! I was just popping by for a visit and spotted your Work in Progress. I'll be on the ball next time and do the Mr Linky. My work in progress looks like an unattractive ribbed leg warmer (a dog jumper, of course). Hmmm.

That jacket pattern looks lovely - and terrifying!

Good luck with this project Cindy! Your guys very lucky.
I've only made one jacket in my life and that was back in the 80's..... think bomber style and it was an art piece too.... mmmmmm.

Hiya Cindy, long time no speak! Have you started Glenn's coat yet? Let me know if you'd like some special tips for inserting the sleeves, sleeve roll and shoulder pads, you can drop in for a coffee.
