Two Peas in a Pod and Winners

Poppy just before her birthday decided to climb out of her cot, and not confidently, more ruggedly determined. I was concerned she was going to break a leg in her pursuit for freedom, so into a big girl bed for her. She just got her special big girl princess bed last week, but I was panicked as my little baby keeps growing up so darn quick. During her transition, I said to Caleb that perhaps she would feel better if he kept her company. After 4.5 years of bunking in with us, and on the promise of hot wheels cars, up he went and has been there ever since. My favourite is listening to them when they wake up - they have the funniest conversations. At night Caleb crashes in 5 minutes, and you can still hear Poppy talking to him half an hour later - the joys of a little sister, the benefit of being a heavy sleeper. I have really been enjoying the little bit of quilting and am working up to doing quilts for them, but I am paralysed with choice, I just can't decide what I want to do.
I had a moment when the cot left the house. I am blaming it being compounded by her 2nd birthday. I still can't believe that Caleb is off to school next year. I am super excited that I am still allowed lots of cuddles and am enjoying every moment I get to spend with them. Less hours at work has more than been compensated by more time with Poppy who is growing into a young diva (umm I mean lady) by the day.
Also the winners from the giveaway - Melli can look forward to a special dress and some new pants heading over the waters for Michelle's pirate. Please email me your addresses and sizes and I can send them off to their new homes.

That's the same reason we put Jack in the big bed! He was escaping...a little too well! He was also using his cot as a climbing jungle gym to get to everything in his room...

LOVE this post!!!

I could have written it myself, probably not as eloquently though ;-)

My two share a room also and they love it, Im enjoying it while it lasts as im sure there will come a time when they wont get along so well

its funny but my 5yr old is also a heavy /first asleep kinda boy and I often go in there to find Iris attempting to shake her big bro awake so she can stay up talking hahaaha

I feel your pain about big school next yr and am cherishing all the cuddles I still get and hope they will continue for a long time yet

Love their room its beautiful

I am thinking its about time that Ellie progressed to a bed but I cant quite give up the cot yet. I know I too will have a big moment when it finally goes. Sharing with a sibling sounds lovely - Poppy sounds just like Ellie who chat chat chats away in her cot but to her bear and dolly instead.

Lucia and Evie share a room as you know and I really think it makes for a really special relationship - sometimes Eva is allowed to venture up to the hallowed top bunk for magical game playing and she gets a real buzz from being with Lu. How do you get such a clean organised room? Their bedroom is a total shambles!

What a sweet post. Ahhh yes, the gentle pangs of little ones growing up way too fast for our liking *sigh*. By the way, the dragonflies & butterflies on the wall are super cute, I think Poppy & Petal were popped out of the same mould :)

What a lovely post! I'm not a Mum, so it's a bit hard for me to say anything that sounds like I know what I'm talking about.
Thank you for your lovely comments about my bears, I had no idea, it means a whole lot.
( and you can borrow my gocco some time if you'd like.)

What a beautiful nostalgic post. Their room looks awesome. How special for your peas to share. I have two light sleepers who wake each other between walls so no sharing for them. I love your poppy stories.

I seem to be having those little 'moments' on an almost daily basis at the moment, watching my wee one grow out of small clothes before my very eyes. The cot will be a huge step. My girl was climbing out of hers at 18 months, so she went into the big bed nice and early too. She too shares with her big brother, but the time is coming too split them up, I think.
