Child Prodigies

In the spirit of Blogtoberfest (ie. I need some filler) and the fact that Nana and Granddad are now reading, I have an ode to the kiddies.
This is Poppy's new favourite book and one of my favourite photos, I think that Pip would be proud. Golden book, originally published 1950's in full Mary Blair gorgeousness.

It is Daddy's day off today so he asked Caleb what he would like to do, "I want to go to the fabric shop". I tell you, I was glowing with pride, Dad was not so impressed and took him to the garden shop instead. Keep your eye out on Project Runway circa 2025.

Oooh, my Argy frequently asks to go to the fabric shop. Don't tell Mr HB, but he also asks to buy pink flowery fabric. I love it!

Hahaha - that is great. I love that. In a big way. Go Caleb, go! The Doctor does enjoy pawing all over my fabrics, and always pulls favourites out then I'm not allowed to put them away. Boys are too cute.

Love the pic of Poppy. So sweet. I love that book too.

Fantastic!

My little girl - when given the choice of how to spend a day - wants to do to IKEA!!!

You've only just popped up again in my Bloglines... for some reason I wasn't getting your posts. Now the same thing is happening to MY OWN feeds.

Oh! Look at all those happy crunchy pages! How adorable! You are right - I really love that book! I really love Mary Blair - she's from a different era in illustration isn't she?! A really great era too!

oh yay! My little boy comes to the fabric shop with me at least once a week and charms the lovely sales staff. When I was pregnant one thing that I tought would be nice about having a girl was handing on my dolls house and doing some sewing- and it turns out you don't need a girl for those things at all! :)

Hi Cindy, I just discovered you via Jesska's blog. I love "I Can Fly" so much. Just bought my little girl a copy because I used to read it all the time when I was little. I particularly love the illustration at the beach......
