The Expanding Bug and Pop Family

Ever felt there was an extra sausage at the picnic - well it appears Sid and Dave are in fact Sydney and Dave. I was a little concerned that Sid may of been sick as she was getting very fat. Mum suggested that maybe she was pregnant, I think my reply was "Don't be ridiculous, they are 2 girls". Look what Glen found running around the hutch, just in time as one tried to escape out the mesh. Four little babies, so hard to take photos of, I will try again tomorrow. They are so cute and soft and already eating food and eyes open and covered in fur. Caleb was already tucked up in bed when we found them so I suspect that he will be a very proud daddy. I am off to get my official Nana concession card. If only I new sooner and I could of gotten her guinea pig bump photo taken at my fellow GP fan's house.

You know I wondered whether this was going to be your "eye spy ... my favourite corner" post ... but then I remembered no one puts babies in the corner. Haw, haw ...

Wow!

I'm kinda jealous you know ... but OMG, what are you going to *DO* ?!
Apparently you can't desex them as it's too fiddly, and they are very prolific breeders.

Can we do a sneaky swap and give Dave the boot ?

Congratulations BTW - and excellent midwifing ! :D

What a lovely surprise! Oh and how many times have we all thought "theyre both girls" because we trusted our local pet shop lol

They are so cute. The very same thing happened to us! Flash, who was thought to be a girl turned out to be a boy, and immediately got his new "teen"friend Peppa pregnant. She was a typical teen mum more into herself and her new boyfriend than her babies. Unfortunatley she became pregnant straight away after giving birth and her poor little body couldn't take it. She died when the babies were only a few months old. I strongly suggest removing Dave from the hutch if you don't want more. Although its probably too late as the female goes on heat immediately after giving birth. Good luck and congrats!

Awwww, your a grannie now. At least they won't expect lots of Christmas presents. They look super cute. If we lived closer I'd love to take a couple off your hands! Looking forward to hearing their names.

The same thing happened to me with two mice, though there were more than four babies...

Oh how lucky are you? Congrats to the whole B & P family. Obviously there was no tell tale signs such as morning sickness, crankiness and overeating???
