My Creative Space

The house is in mourning today, Nana left this morning after 6 weeks so everyone is a bit forlorn, especially Poppy who has been yelling Nana at every nook and cranny that she can find in search of her beloved friend. Mum was also my chief assistant cutter, look at all those plastic envelopes now, they have been breeding. It has given me a huge head start with 70 plus outfits in there.

On the end of my drafting table, as my sewing table is full of other stuff. These are reversible boys polar fleece vests with a skulls patch on the back. I also used the binding foot on this as well but it didn't work so well with the thicker fleece and denim binding. I promise a demo on the binding foot tomorrow. I have also finished quite a few of the boys pants that I will get out for show and tell next week.

Thanks to Kirsty yet again for Creative space and the great collection of creative peeps playing.

I'm a big fan of precutting and storing as well! I also use plastic envelopes to the bits. It makes life so much easier. Somehow I still lose pieces though. I often hear myself saying "hmmm. I'm pretty sure I cut two ears. Craig, do you think I could make this hippo with just one ear?"

It's sad you don't have your cutter anymore but you are so organised now! Very impressed.

Oh dear, I can just imagine what nana going home would be like. Poor little Poppy! Hope you all adjust to the new regime soon. Sounds like you all had a good time with your mum.

You are looking very organised too!

Wow, that is so organised. Whenever I pre-cut stuff I lose pieces.

Hope Poppy adjusts to life without Nan soon.

I love those polar fleece vests, what a stunning idea! Really great!

Seventy outfits you say? You have been keeping your assistant busy!

I love the look of the vests. I can't wait to see more of them. I think the reversible idea is going to be a winner.

Sounds like every crafty soul could do with a visit from your mum. I'm very keen to check out the binding foot & I'll be popping back in tomorrow.

Poor poppy :(
I'm glad, though, that you got to come and cafe with me while your mum was still here :)
That sewing stash is pretty impressive, all cut and ready to go. I'm also like that - spending the time preparing things ahead - It's an efficient way to work I think, especially if you have to build up stock levels for markets.

I'm definitely taking a lesson from you and your mum about organising all of the pre-cut stuff. Mine just gets lost in the piles and piles and piles....

Poor Poppy :( Hope she's adjusted now and is no longer 'looking' for Nana.

As for that impressive stash, how organised are you??? You've inspired me to get organised this year!

i call my grandparents Nana & Poppy...so it's amusing that your little Poppy chased Nana around the house! Grandparents are god sent , aren't they!
