Summer Daze

Technically not summer anymore, I know but I couldn’t resist one more post in Jodi’s summer update. I have been admiring lots of lovely blog-gy vege gardens, but our little rental courtyard doesn’t allow too much growing action. The kids loved getting involved in our new herb pots with Glen, especially Poppy.

First we had to clear out the pots!

Poppy had a great green thumb, determined to plant them green side down. Lots of delicious herbs for the new slow cooker marathon.

It's just not possible to have too much basil (though pesto tastier when the herby stuff is planted right side up)...

Awesome! Loving the look of that lush green basil. Pesto is my FAVOURITE!!! Saw a recipe on Saucy Onion for basil icecream: http://saucyonion.blogspot.com/2010/02/recipe-basil-ice-cream.html
I haven't tried it yet. If you do let me know how it goes.
Also - looks like your boy has just had a growth spurt - he is looking very tall!

Hehe, what is it about cats that love pots so much!
Pots are always lovely, my courtyard is the same, not such of a growing space

Look at your little darlings! Love the cat pic too. I am baby sitting my sisters cat at the moment and it put a muddy paw print on my doll quilt that I was about to send. So I washed it. And one of the red fabrics ran. Many swear words. What to do?

Hmm, that inspires me. All ours has died off. We need to replant! Love the photos of the smalls, cute. Caleb looks so tall! And glad Pops got the plants in the right way in the end.
