My Creative Space

001 This week some new swimmers for Caleb. The blue camo print from the lovely Mel and the plan is a little shark appliqué action. I am going to ditch the velcro fly for just an elastic waist, not sure how that experiment is going to go? The dress for Poppy is one of the patterns from the Japanese pattern book and nearly finished.

I am waiting on some fabric to arrive to get into more of those Christmas presents and despite telling myself different have yet to make myself a dress for summer. Hopefully I can get into it soon! More creative goodness at Kirst’s.

The dress looks really sweet. I am trying to ignore the approach of Christmas - have too much else to do first.

I love that shark applique. How cool is that going to look? Elasticised waistbands are the best things ever. I'm a bit of a fan of the turn-a-fly-front- into-a-mock-fly-with-an-elastic-waistband. (I think that's the the proper sewing term for it?)

Great prints and love the shark. My boy would think that was very cool. My boy is four and if whenever he wears board shorts with both elastic band and fly, he never uses the fly. I think it would be fine without for a young boy.

Loving all the projects you've got on the go... I think the elastic waist will work well - much better than velcro. I'm a bit anti-velcro ... especially for things that I want to through into the machine to wash.
